GOD is so good…

I remember..

When I first arrived in US soil, I was driving around with my International license which was good for a year. Within the one year period, I have to get a US driving license. Driving to me was not a problem then as I was in my 16 years of driving experience in my country. The problems that I faced in US were as follows :

  • Driving on the right/correct side of the road
  • Applying for a day to do the road test
  • The time spent working towards passing the road test and what if?
  • Trying to apply a driving permit for my wife, LPheng was difficult as she came in the US with a different visa.

GOD has it all planned out for me. HE has arranged an angel named Michael Smith to meet at the airport and we became friends in the shortest time. When he heard that I have had intention in applying for a US driving license, he was all ready to teach to drive in the right lane of the road and at the same time, taught me everything that I need to know about getting it right the first time. He also took a day off to accompany me to do the road test.

Time flies and soon I was ready for the BIG day. Not that I am afraid of going for the road test but “what if?” came into my mind. I would have thrown away my opportunity to get it right, wasting my time, my money and most of all, to reapply for another day off to do it all over again.

I was up at 4am that day and I prayed to GOD for HIS help for both my wife and I. I seeked GOD as it was HE who brought to this country of milk and honey. That morning, I felt the holy spirit. HE drew me to 2 Chronicles 20:15 it reads …. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the vast army. For the battle is not yours but GOD’s. My confidence was strengthened. I told LPheng about it that morning GOD was going to deliver us. AMEN.

The road test went well with Michael seated at the back seat of the car. I was driving next to Mr. Nice, the tester. From my driving experience, I could tell that he was pleased with it. When I was done with road test, Mr. Nice was checking on the papers work when he went on to say, “Mr. Chin, are you ready for the “Hand Signals Test”?. “Hand Signals Test”?, I had no idea that I was scheduled for any of it. I was willing to give myself a shot at it.

Mr. Nice asked me a few questions and my hands were “signalling” in different directions. I was lost and nervous as I was not prepared or even ready for any “hand signals test”. With the results ready, Mr. Nice came to me. He said, “Mr. Chin, you did well with the road test but you failed badly with the ““Hand Signals Test”. I froze for a moment with a “here we go again, now what?”written on my face. He continued, “You know what? Today is my last day at work, I am retiring and for that, I am going to give you a pass”. At this point. realized GOD has HIS humor. AMEN. I was most appreciated for what GOD has done.

One the other end, LPheng failed once again in trying to apply for a driving permit. The reason that was given was that she was an “Alien”, all for entering US with a different Visa status. Naturally, she was disappointed.

When we were got home, the sun was right above our heads. She was trying to call the RMVs for other alternatives while I was wondering “if I have had heard it right that GOD was going to deliver us from the tests”. It was closed to 1pm when she finally got to right person. Praise GOD! It was a painful experience after numerous calls that went from one to another, with many transfers of lines from here and there.

This “angel” advised her to get to point A to settle the “visa” issue first before she could sit for the “Learned Permit Test”. We took his advice and rushed the family to Commuter Rail Station. We got the next train to Boston. By the time, we got to Point A, it was already 230pm. Praise GOD that the process went like a breeze as there were not many applicants on that day.

With a confirmation letter of the Visa status in hand, we rushed to the RMV in Chinatown, Boston for her “Learned Permit Test” application. We were there at 3.30pm and there was a long queue of applicants. LPheng got into the line and GOD has HIS hands on it again. This time, a RMV staff opened an additional counter to serve the applicants. She called to LPheng to start off the process.

By the time her application process completed, it was past 4pm. she was ready for her “Learned Permit Test”.  She waited until her name was called at 4.30pm. She did passed her “Learned Permit Test” and we were out of the RMV by 4,45pm. GOD has kept HIS promised for us. Without HIS help, we would have ended going round and round in circles with no results at all. Our GOD is an awesome GOD. HE hears and HE answers. HE is the same yesterday, today and forever and ever.

This might not be a major prayer request to many but I just want to make known that GOD cares for your heart and NOT how BIG/small your prayer request is. Our GOD ALMIGHTY answers all prayer requests both BIG/small. Our GOD is for all who asks, seeks and finds.

AMEN.

Psalm 32:8

God is so good. HE hears and HE answers.

I have been working as “Mental Health Assistant” for the past 3 months. I am still learning to cope with my responsibilities in dealing with students/clients with special needs. My working schedules for every weekend is a “Sleep Aide (Sat 11 pm – Sun 8.00 am) followed with a Pick Up Shift (Sun 8.01 am – Sun 5 pm). 90% of my shifts were at the A-Town residence. Thank GOD for it. This Saturday, an extra On-Call shift was added to my schedule from 4 pm- 11 pm). When I found out that I have an extra On-Call shift, I prayed to our GOD ALMIGHTY that I will be send to the same residence in A-Town for all of my shifts for that day and on Sunday. I had to call in to the scheduler at a certain time to find out the residence that I was going to and it may varies.

When I called in for my on call schedule, I was told that I have been assigned to go to B-Town residence. I was a bit discouraged but I believed “things can change”. I asked the Scheduler if he can arranged for a different residence for my “Sleep-Aide” shift and he told me to call him back later.

When I told my wife, Lai Pheng about it, she said,”It can change”. Anyway, I left for work at 3.15pm on that day. Normally, I would set my GPS to get to B-Town but that day, I drove with my trust in GOD that HE will lead me to the residence. When I got to the final path of the destination, there was a T junction and I was wondering which side (right/left) to take. I remember one of them (not sure if it is right/left) will lead me to the B-Town while the other will take me to A-Town. With the Holy Spirit in me, I took a turn and it led towards A-Town instead. I had to make a turn back to get to the B-Town residence.

I arrived at B-Town residence at 3.50pm that day. My mind was all about calling the Scheduler with regards to my “Sleep-Aide” shift. I was hoping that it will be at A-Town residence. When I called in for the Scheduler, he was out. 15 minutes, the Scheduler called back and told me that my On-Call shift in B-Town residence has been changed. I have to go to A-Town residence (AMEN!) for all my shifts scheduled. When I heard of it, I was smiling from eye to eye.

When I was about to get ready to leave for my On-Call shift in A-Town residence, I was told by a staff that I cannot leave yet as they were short of 1 staff.  At the very point, I heard a knock on the door. The staff who was supposed to relieve me came at the most perfect timing. Praise The LORD!

I was praising the LORD all the way to A-Town residence. GOD already knew that my heart’s desire is to work the extras at A-Town residence that day. When I informed the Scheduler if he can arrange a difference residence for my “Sleep-Aide” shift, I did not mentioned that I wanted it in A-Town residence even though, I wanted it badly. When I drove to B-Town residence, I ended on the path to A-Town residence instead. GOD has already set it right for me that I was going to A-Town residence and that was just a preview of it coming.

When i was in B-Town residence, my mind was focussing on calling the Scheduler about my “Sleep-Aide” shift. I believe the Holy Spirit was prompting me to call. When I was told that I was unable to leave as B-Town residence was short of a staff, a staff arrived at the most perfect timing! Isn’t that GOD’s timing?

If I had not inform of the Scheduler that i wanted a different residence, I would have ended up working all my shifts in the same residence and that would have been discouraging to me. As I had prayed and claimed it in the Name of JESUS that morning, I have to put my trust in HIM. The Scheduler had no clue that I wanted to work in A-Town, and yet, I was assigned to A-Town.

GOD is awesome and this was not the only one miracle HE had performed in my life. I have countless of miracles and prayers answered from GOD. This week itself, has got me seeing GOD taking me from two problematic situation to a peaceful transition. I am thankful to GOD for HIS watchful eyes over me. I was praying about my job a month ago and GOD gave me a word in Psalm 32:8. It reads “I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go, I will counsel you and watch over you.”

Also in Psalm 91:15, it reads “He will call upon me and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.”

HE knows what my mind was thinking of and what’s my heart’s desires. I do not know my tomorrow but GOD knows my future. I am having problems trying to cope with my responsibilities in my current job. Sometimes, I wanted to throw in the towel to say,”That’s it”. But GOD, HE knows what’s good and what’s not for me. No matter how bad a situation may be, HE still has a smile on my face which I can hardly do it on my own.  Every time, a situation appears, my focus is on the 2 psalms that GOD has given me to take me through. My strength is from GOD ALMIGHTY, and GOD ALONE.

AMEN.

Fly HIGH with GOD.

Who can really see “Tomorrow” better than our LORD JESUS CHRIST, who is “The Creator” of heavens and earth?

Matthew 6:30, 34 reads

If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Life is a gamble. In everything that we do, it is always a challenge. The moment that we are born, we are faced with the uncertainties of Tomorrow. Our “walks in uncertainties” list  consists of our jobs, our marriages, our children, our sickness, our disease, our sufferings, our parents, our careers, our success, our failures, our hopes, our discouragements and the never ending list of worries. Tomorrow may be closed by but it seems to be so far away especially when we are faced with a problem. In many of our walks in life, we seems to be journeying alone. We need “someone” to walk with us. Someone who is strong, able, loving , caring and someone who can helps us to walk into Tomorrow with the confidence of knowing that our Tomorrow is well taken care of.

I used to worry a lot about “Tomorrow”. There were just too many things to worry about. I was unable to put a full control of my mind to stop worrying of “things” to come. Every night, when I laid down my head on my pillow, my mind will start the never ending worrying of tomorrow. At times, I felt I had insomnia because of my constant worrying.

Today, GOD has brought me to so many “Tomorrows” and after all these “Tomorrows”, HE is still with me. GOD is in control of everything and HE reminded me that HE holds “Tomorrow” and HE continues to walk with me  as there will be many more “TOMORROWS” to come. .

If you are facing the same problem, it is time to give it to our GOD to handle it for you. Ask of HIM to take over and turn you from a ‘worrier” into a prayer “WARRIOR” … AMEN.

GOD wants us to be encouraged..

In doing so, we are also encouraging the people around us.

Philippians 3:13-14

Between GPS and GOD.

12 good reasons why GOD is the BEST GPS in our lives….

GPS GOD
1. Needs batteries/recharging don’t need any batteries – HE just need your trust. Proverbs 3:5,6 says so.
2. Has its limitation has no limitation. HE can help you make your dreams come true in Philippians 4:13
3. May breaks down. never break down. HE is 7/24. It is a promise from GOD. Hebrews 13:5
4. May have malfunction every now and then. It may not warn you much about its failure. After all,  it is just a piece of machine. Never has this problem at all. HE has the solutions
to every problem. It is written in Matthew 6:24 – 34 so that you don’t have to worry.
5. Needs to upgrade everynow and then. Needs no upgrading. HE is the same yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever and ever. Hebrews 13:8
6. May have too many brands in the market. Too  many companies in the market. IS the ONLY one in the whole wide world and across the whole universe. Remember, HE is the creator. Genesis Chapter 1 says it all.
7. May lead you to the wrong path. May lead you to the wrong path for HIS reasons as in Romans 8:28. It may seems wrong to us but to HIM, HE is always right.
8. May be costly to many of us. HE is free for all and HE is also a supplier.
Philippians 4:19

9. May seems powerful in its way. And yet,  powerful but it has its faults too. Is ALMIGHTY and POWERFUL in EVERY way. Psalm 91:1
10. May leads and that’s all it can do. No back up at all. Unless you pay for an additional package. Leads, change/transforms you and your path, speaks to you, comforts you and loves you unconditionally. HIS holy spirit is in us. Now that’s a good back up. John 14:16-17.
11. May die on you at the most crucial time. Had died for you and your sins once and for all. You can count on GOD for HIS security.
12. Can be stored in your pockets/pocket books. May also need a special storage for it. Lives forever in your heart. No special storage is required.

Tomorrow

I used to worry about “Tomorrow” until GOD found me 18 years ago. The day GOD found me, I was still worrying about “What Tomorrow Will Bring?” and “How am I going to handle Tomorrow?”. It did not take long before I realized that GOD has “Tomorrow” in HIS control.

Matthew 6:30, 34 reads ..

GOD reminded me that “worrying will lead me to the same place where I first started. Worrying leads me to nowhere” and that was when I started to learn to trust GOD. It did not take long before GOD replaced my “worrying” to “TRUSTING” in HIM more than ever before. Today, GOD has brought me to so many “Tomorrow” and after all these “Tomorrow”, HE is still with me. HIS promise is never void and HIS hope brings a ray of light every morning.

Our GOD ALMIGHTY JESUS CHRIST is in control of everything. HE has the whole world in HIS hands. HE reminded me that HE holds “Tomorrow” and HE will continue to walk with me as there will be many more “TOMORROW” to come. .And I believe that HE will do the same for you.

AMEN.

Deuteronomy 31:6 and 31:8

Deuteronomy 31:6 reads Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your GOD goes with you; HE will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 reads “The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you; HE will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

If you are facing a “GIANT/situation/problem/uncertainties/sickness/disease” and you’re not sure who you can turn to for HELP, you can try calling upon the Name of Our LORD, JESUS CHRIST. The bible verses which I’d posted are NOT just for reading. It has the TRUTH that it works all the time. I can be a witness to it.

If you seek man for help, you are heading for more unknown problems coming your way. If man can resolve problem, there will NOT be so many more problems today. Only GOD can do it. While man is impossible, GOD is possible.

Turn to GOD for a solution that will change your life. You may not see it but GOD already know what you’ll need. It does not matter whether you are/not a Christian to try our LORD JESUS CHRIST. HE was created to die for die for all of our sins. HE did it for you, me and everyone. Give yourself a chance to discover the truth in life than to live in lies. start your talking as GOD is waiting.

Allow GOD to light up your lives and keep the darkness at bay. Live for CHRIST and allow HIM to take control of your “GIANT/situation/problem/uncertainties/sickness/disease” .

AMEN.

“Sin is..

…. just a temptation away”.  Temptation is always lurking around the corner. If anyone is not careful, he/she will falls into a trap that may ruins his/her life. Temptation comes in many forms of images. It can be very “sweet” from the outside and extremely “deadly” from the inside. It starts off with “it is ok, everyone is doing it” and ends up as “you’re the fool and now there is no way out”.

When you’re in it, it is very hard to come out of it. You may even be “bonded” into it. Sin is temptation and it is like a virus that eats into you emotionally and physically. It causes stress, anxiety, pains, sufferings, degrading, shame, abnormalities, dysfunctional, unrest, chaotic, disturbance, madness, craziness, lose a person’s respect, dignity, shun away and finally to death. Sin can cause a person to be a living “dead”. Why seek Temptation when you are free to seek JESUS CHRIST?

GOD can help us to fight “temptation”.  No other gods can do it better than JESUS. HE is our savior, our shepherd, our provider, our All in all. When you call, HE is there. HE is always around you and even when you think HE is NOT. HE even has the angels encamp around you (Psalm 34:7).  HE walks with you all the time. HE convicts you in a gentle and effective but subtle way. HE protects and HE delivers. HE answers when you call, HE is there. HE gives you strength when you need it. HE gives you the peace that you’ll need to carry you through. GOD is never busy like you. HE is just a breath away. You can talk to HIM anytime, anywhere. You want.

If you’re struggling with temptation in your life, check out some encouraging bible verses from the BIBLE and pray with the added bible verse below, asking the Lord to help you deal with the temptations you’ll face each day. Get help from GOD before sin eats into you.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV) reads  No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

GOD bless.

What is a “FRIEND”?

Have you ever had a real good trusted friend? A friend you can call buddy, brother, sister etc. A friend you can definitely put him/her into the” BEST FRIEND” category.  If you do, you are blessed.  Well, some of us may not be so fortunately to have a friend we can call “BEST” friend.

In the world today, it is hard to find someone who really cares and shares your thoughts and mind. It is hard to have someone who really understands you and your emotions.  Someone who can walk with you, talk with you or even be there when the time is good or even bad.

We all need to have a friend to get by as our days on earth are getting more complicating and wacky. There is peer pressure in almost everything that we do. Life is not as easy as we are thought it was.  We are always in a rush for something and at times, we are not so sure why we are heading that way. Everyday can be so stressful. We are all so busy running after the “World” and no matter how fast we run, we are still far behind everyone. Probably that explains why a lot of people are having health issues. We need a friend that we can talk to and relate to and listen to us when we speak. We need someone who has the time to pay a full attention to our needs and helps us to walk the right path.

Who can be there for us 24/7? Who is willing to listen to us when we talked? Who can be there for us when the going gets rough? Who can be our “Friend” forever? Who can be there for us when we are down and feeling depress? Who can comfort us when we are all alone?

A friend in needs is a friend in deed. JESUS is one friend you can bet your WHOLE heart into trusting. HE never lie, never sly and always honest, never sins, never breaks a heart nor even leave you in the cold. HE is one good friend that comes around even when you are in the down in the dumpsters. HE cares for nothing except to be your friend forever. HE can be around you, holding you and even comforting you with his embrace and you may not even felt HIS presence. And yet, HE is so close to you. In Hebrews chapter 13:4, JESUS gave us one of his promise, Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because GOD has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you”.

JESUS is one friend you can rely on. HE made promises that will never ever go void. HIS promises are not like those that come with a condition “IF”. HIS promises do not expire or has an expiration date. HE is better than any 911 system. In fact, HE is our 911. Can you imagine when you in trouble and you don’t have a cell phone with you, can you call 911 for help? Who can you call without a cell phone? You can call out to JESUS anytime and HE will be there. Psalm 91:15 reads “HE will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

You can be caught in a situation where you think there is no way out. You may think that the best solution is to shut off the world. Think again – in Psalm 23:4 reads “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me”.

As your best friend, HE knows what is good and bad for you. HE knows who your friends are. HE knows so much about you than you don’t ever know yourself. HE knows your fears and your insecurities.  You may think HE is a “Stalker” and I agreed that HE is. Try thinking it right again.  GOD cares and loves you as you are HIS child. HE has HIS reasons of being around you. Isaiah 41:10 reads “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your GOD. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”.

HE loves you more than you ever loved yourself. In fact, it is written in the bible that HE loves you and HE knows you even before you’re formed. In Jeremiah 31:3, The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving kindness”. Have any of your friends ever spoken their love for you? Even if they did, do they mean it? But GOD does. HE means what HE said. Again, HE reminds you in Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I set you apart”.

HIS loves for you is amazing. In Isaiah 43:1 The LORD says, “HE who created you, O Jacob, HE who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine”. GOD loves his people and you are one of the many HE has chosen. In Deuteronomy 7:6, it reads “For you are a people holy to the LORD your GOD. The LORD your GOD has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be HIS people, HIS treasured possession”.

HE helps you to get the best. And HE wants you to receive the “BEST” from HIM. In Jeremiah 29:11 GOD speaks “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. Our LORD JESUS is never short of anything that you may want or need. HE is our “Provider” as HE is also known as “Jehovah Jireh”.

In our journey of life, there are times when we are standing at a crossroad. Not knowing which way to take. Not knowing the path that we are taking is the right one for us. When it happens, who else can direct us to the path except the LORD, Himself. In Proverbs 3:5,6, GOD reminds us again, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge HIM, and HE will make your paths straight”. Who can beat that?

I heard of many who seeks mediums, soothsayers, fortune tellers etc for help. Can they really help in directing us to the correct path? Is there a “fee” charged for this consultation? Does JESUS ever charge a fee for HIS consultation?

How far can this “friend” goes to get our attention? How much more does it take to get us to know this friend? If GOD is not for us, JESUS would not have gone to the cross.  When HE was on the cross, HE has us on HIS mind. Without JESUS fulfilling the will of HIS father, GOD, we will all be still in sins. John 3:16 reads For GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS one and only Son, that whosoever believes in HIM shall not perish but have eternal life. For GOD did not send HIS Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through HIM. The “world” that GOD refers to is you and me and everyone in it. HE cares not the color of our skins. HE understands every language on earth.

HE has everyone on mind when HE died on the cross. Do you have HIM in mind, now that you are living a life that was given by HIM? Do you want HIM to be your friend? Do you want to have a friend who will be with you forever and ever?  Do you want to have a friend who will fight every battle that you faced?

HE is just waiting for you to say “Come into me, LORD JESUS” and be my friend, my savior and my GOD forever.  I thank you that you had died for my sins and because of this, you have given a life.  Just open your heart to receive HIM.

AMEN…and GOD bless.
